Love vs. Tolerance

Tue May 12, 2009, 4:52 PM
BISHOP FULTON J. SHEEN

Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it.
It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin.
The cry for tolerance never induces it to quench its hatred of the evil philosophies that have entered into contest with the Truth.
It forgives the sinner, and it hates the sin; it is unmerciful to the error in his mind.
The sinner it will always take back into the bosom of the Mystical Body;
but his lie will never be taken into the treasury of His Wisdom.
Real love involves real hatred:
whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the buyers and sellers from the temples
has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth.
Charity, then, is not a mild philosophy of "live and let live";
it is not a species of sloppy sentiment.
Charity is the infusion of the Spirit of God,
which makes us love the beautiful and hate the morally ugly.

RESULT:
A Warp-Wolf--you have a very special companion. This particular warp-wolf has black and dark purple fur laced back with sapphire crystal armor naturally growing off of its body, especially around the joins and decoratively around the face and snout. Tall and healthy, this warp-wolf is ready to protect you at a moment's notice, and always seems to have a sense for your situation, be it caution in a dangerous place, or simply giving you a little nuzzle when you're feeling upset, even if you didn't realize you needed it.

Along the center of its back, some of the crystals have sharped in a fine spikes, making it appear dangerous along with its long, powerful tail that ends in a cluster of crystal-spikes, but for you the warp-wolf is always welcoming. And as you take a closer look, you notice that the purple strains of fur have a clean, metallic shine to them. The warp-wolf's eyes are a lovely amethyst shade to match.

At times your warp-wolf will just lay about, and groan when you try to get it to do something rather than just let it nap, but it once its up, be careful, because it likes to get going! On occasion, this warp-wolf gets a bit grumpy, which you might want to keep your friends wary of, but it will never snap at you.

I'd let you know if your warp-wolf is a boy or a girl, but I'd have to check, and... well I'd rather not get the business end of that tail... I'll let you figure it out. I believe its name is 'Kaeta'.

Lighter Notes...

Sat Apr 28, 2007, 2:43 AM
While I maintain what I said in my previous journal entry, leaving it as the only thing mainly visible on my page is a bit morbid, so on to lighter topics.

As you can tell from my art recently, I play World of Warcraft. My Night Elf Priest, Silaria, has recently reached 64, and I intend to get her to 70 quickly so I can focus on other matters. I want to get her a Nether Drake mount, but... so much time and money for all the stages and quests. It's disheartening.

What I Believe

Sun Apr 8, 2007, 2:05 AM
I write this now as a representative of a given view point. Like any rational person, I believe what I believe because I believe it to be the truth. I have addressed homosexuality before, many of my friends know my views of such things clearly. I now seek to simply articulate certain parts of my beliefs.

There is no moral wrong in two people of the same gender loving each other. The question of morality is always in terms of behavior. How does one *act* out love. The sexual faculty of the human being was created for two, conjoined purposes. The celebration of the unity of Marriage, as spouses are joined to G'd, and as a blessed event in which the human creature is united with G'd's creative power, producing a new life. To divide the sexual faculty from reproduction is disordered. To divide intimacy from creation is disordered.

At this point an obvious question must be dealt with. If intimacy, fully enjoyed in unity with G'd, happens not to produce a child, then the unitive, affectionate aspect is blessed and good, not disordered. The issue is *intent*. Are the spouses open to joining in creative power, or are they not? Only *active* division of sexuality from creation is disordered, not happenstance.

Taking this principle, all of the following are self-evident: 1) a husband and wife should not enjoy sexual intimacy while using birth-control, as this is active division of sexual faculty from creative. 2) Artificial insemination divides creation from the sexual faculty in the opposite manner, and is also disordered. 3) Homosexual behavior (meaning specifically sexual activity between two or more individuals of the same gender) has no creative element, and is thus fundamentally disordered. It can *not* be creative in a natural format. Two men or two women can not conceive life through sexual intimacy with each other.

This all follows from belief in the sanctity of the Catholic Sacrament of Marriage. Marriage is designed by G'd to create family, family being the echo on this earth of G'd's perfect unity (the Trinity). A family based on disordered behavior is disordered. This is why I object to homosexual couples adopting children. A distortion of the truth is not a proper start to a child's life, and should be avoided. Equally harmful is divorce, unmarried heterosexual couples having children, and so on. Parents whose relationship is based in a disordered behavior are not healthy parents.

This is not a denial of human sentiment. A homosexual couple will have any and all the desires for children that any pair of humans could share. The issue is the objective nature of the relationship. Just because I want something does not mean it is right for me to have it, however noble my intentions. One example being that I may want to have sexual intimacy with a young woman, fully intending to marry her, but to do so would be completely immoral and disordered. Sexual intimacy is for a wife and husband to share within G'd, no other use of it is acceptable.

A related issue is masturbation. This is also a misuse of the sexual faculty, as it divides one's own sexual aspect from the creative one intended by G'd. It is an affront to one's own dignity, and with the fantasies usually involved, an affront to the beings visualized. Of course, all sinful actions are an affront to G'd.

This is what I believe.
